Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

THE STYLE THAT BEATS ALL OTHER STYLES?

For self-defense, most people practice punches and kicks...but 9 out of 10 fights end up on the ground. That makes all of those striking techniques completely USELESS. When a fight goes to the ground though...Co-Ed Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shines. That makes it one of the most practical, real-world forms of self-defense on the planet.

Some people join our classes JUST for the workout! After all, it's so fun that you forget you're building strength and burning calories.

You have nothing to be embarrassed about. We'd love nothing more than to get you up to speed and show you the ropes. On the other hand - seasoned vets get just as much out of our training. • Will martial arts make my kid violent?
No way! In fact, martial arts makes kids calmer and more respectful than ever. Martial arts always has been about peace, and it always will be.
  • Can my child get injured with martial arts?
As a parent, I'm sure you've seen that kids can get injured doing just about anything. Martial arts is no different, however we take safety very seriously here. Yes, injuries do sometimes happen. But we do everything in our power to avoid them. We do special exercises and stretches to make your child's body limber and flexible.
  • My child isn't athletic. Can they still participate?
Absolutely. Martial Arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don't naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.
  • Are classes fun?
Yes! After all, these are children we're dealing with here. And kids love their fun. We do a variety of games and activities that have kids howling with laughter, and constantly smiling. We work hard here - but we play just as hard.
  • How old should my child be to start martial arts?
Any age! Most kids range from 5 to teenagers, but we have kids who are younger, too. Classes are customized to suit children of different ages. A teenager receives very different treatment than a 6 year old, for example.
  • Do children's confidence and self-esteem grow with the martial arts?
Absolutely. Kids with low self-esteem often come out of their shells. As their skill level increases, they feel more and more confident. Other kids look up to them, just as they look up to other kids who are ahead of them. It builds a sense of confidence, pride, and teamwork.
  • Do boys AND girls take martial arts?
Yes! We have a good mix of both girls and boys in our youth kickboxing classes! Some people think that the boys are much “stronger and tougher,” but in reality this is not true. In fact, often girls are the stronger ones!
  • Do kids stick with classes for a while?
Kids have a blast here. There's smiling and laughter throughout every class. We have our moments of intense concentration and focus... but we always balance things out with fun and games to keep everything alive and light.
